Sean’s story
Sean Finn is a successful financial specialist, business systems consultant and mentor, who wants to help more purpose-driven entrepreneurs make an impact that belies their size.
Sean joined Vision 20/20 because he wanted a different approach when considering his next steps. He felt ready to explore and challenge his ideas but needed some support and structure to get started. This is his story.
The culture fit mattered
I think it's the way you run the business, to be honest, it just fitted in with the way I see things. It is more purpose driven than just pure business process.
And the fact that there is that level of support there, whether it's from yourself, Laurence, or Lana, or anybody else on the program. It's a warm community feel. So it was an immediate sort of connection.
This program made me start from a new place
Prior to this program, I would have always looked at the outside - you know, have I got the right software? Have I got the right systems in place? Have I got the right accounting system, etc, as opposed to why I'm actually doing this, really?
The program was a foundation stone for a new process
You've got to be prepared to make that time investment. Because if you're not, don't do it.
But I liked that there was a little bit of rigor and discipline applied. Because up to then I hadn't done enough of that myself.
I had been wandering around looking at things and not getting anywhere. I was going to use it as a stepping stone; you do the program, think about what you do, and then launch from there and develop the business.
The case clinics brought confidence
You present your case, as it were, and then you get to listen to what other people are saying about you and your ideas. That's a little scary on one level.
But I realised that it helps to build people's confidence in what they're doing. It helps to sharpen what you're trying to say for future scenarios, like presenting to a possible client, as well.
The joy of travelling with others
Work with current clients impacted me, because I became quite busy in that period. But the accountability factor from the buddy groups really did help. The community is there at all stages.
And it's lovely to see other people develop as they're going along as well, you know? You can get quite a kick out of that.
I’m much clearer about my idea, based on my needs
I kind of had an idea, but nothing more firm than that. Whereas now, I’m very clear on the personal needs around it.
